Frozen Chocolate Almond Banana Slices

  • 1 banana, sliced into 1/4" rounds
  • 1/2 cup Hershey's Special Dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tblsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  1. Put chocolate chips and butter in a small microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave at half power for 20 seconds.
  3. Remove from the microwave and inspect. The chocolate should be melty and lumpy. If the chocolate doesn't melt after stirring, microwave again at half power for 10 seconds at a time until it does.
  4. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Using a toothpick or fondue fork, swirl a banana slice in the chocolate, then set it on a piece of waxed paper. Sprinkle almond slices over it and press them in gently.
  6. Repeat with the other banana slices.
  7. Freeze the bananas for an hour or more before serving.
