Bruschetta

entree
  • 1 nice ripe tomato
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1-3 tbsp olive oil
  • a big pinch of dried basil, or 5 leaves fresh, minced (or to taste)
  • slices of French or Italian bread
  1. Dice the tomato and toss it in a bowl with the olive oil and basil.
  2. Toast the bread, and rub each slice with the flat side of the garlic.
  3. Spoon some of the tomato mixture on each slice.
