The easiest "cake pan" cake

- 1 and 1/2 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup cold water or coffee
- Pre-heat the oven to 350.
- In a 9x9 cake pan, blend dry ingredients thoroughly with a fork.
- Make 3 indentations in the dry ingredients with your fork. Pour the oil into the first one, the vinegar into the second one, and the vanilla into the third.
- Pour the water or coffee over all the ingredients in the pan. Stir with a fork until evenly blended.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, til done. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Serve alone, with whipped cream, ice cream, your favorite frosting, or an ingenious topping of your own.
